Services
We provide support and care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to adults with autism, learning disabilities and/or mental illness who are unable to live independently within the community. The care that we provide builds upon our resident’s strengths, skills and resilience, and allows them to overcome barriers so that they can live their best life! Using our care planning tool ‘The Wellbeing Wave’, we develop goals in a collaborative way that optimises independence and wellbeing.
Crwban, the Welsh word for ‘turtle’, is at the centre of our ethos. The turtle symbolises perseverance and tranquillity, and at Crwban Care and Support Ltd, we support our residents to reach for the stars whilst providing a calm and homely environment.
Our experienced support workers provide care and support to individuals with a variety of diagnosis, including (but not limited to): Learning Disabilities, Autism, mental health diagnoses & physical disabilities. We acknowledge that whilst diagnosis is a good indicator of symptomology and presentation, every single individual is wonderfully unique. The person-centred care that we provide reflects this.
Our Support Workers are registered to Social Care Wales & receive ongoing regular training to ensure that the care that they provide is up to date and evidence based. The training they receive includes (but is not limited to):
Communication training
Autism awareness
Learning Disability Awareness
Mental Health Awareness
Epilepsy Awareness and Buccal Administration
PBM/ABMU
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) training
Social Story Development
Diabetes Awareness
as well as all mandatory training outlined by the Welsh Government.
All support workers are also signed up to QCF courses, to further improve their practice and knowledge. Our training is provided by our in-house PBM/ABMU training, our registered nurse, the local health boards/local authorities and online training platform ‘Flexebee’.
